GENERAL PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The refresher program is designed to update the skills of any previously licensed Barber and/or Cosmetologist. It is also intended for any individual who has failed the barber or cosmetology licensing exam and has been referred by the State Board for further training. *The State Board dictates the number of hours needed for remediation. Students may review pertinent theory as well as practice skills in techniques of hair cutting, blow-drying, chemical waving, and hair coloring. Each instructor works closely with the student to supervise, explain techniques, and check progress. The graduate is prepared for entry-level employment in the fields of cosmetology or barber styling. The State Board exam may be re-attempted by those taking the course for that purpose.
GENERAL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Barber or Cosmetology Refresher program consists of 160 contact hours and 8 credit hours of instruction. A student is awarded a Certificate upon completion of the graduation requirements listed in the catalog.
