GENERAL PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The pharmacy technology program provides the student with an opportunity to develop the technical ability, knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in any number of healthcare facilities and retail establishments as a Pharmacy Technician.  The student participates in classroom lecture, intense training in a mock lab setting, and transition to a pharmacy in local healthcare facilities or retail establishments.  Graduates may find employment in hospitals, nursing care facilities, retail and wholesale pharmacies, drug manufactures, and health maintenance organizations.  The graduate can demonstrate communication and employability skills and can apply appropriate medical ethics to all areas of the job.

GENERAL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The pharmacy technician program consists of 99.5 credit hours of instruction, lab, and clinical hours. An Associate of Science degree is awarded to a student upon successful completion of all graduation requirements listed in the catalog.
